A Nanto Sei ken Practitioner, Amoeba considered himself a genius. While in "Miracle Village", Amoeba became jealous of Toki's superior healing ability. He had Toki imprisoned at Cassandra and impersonated him, mimicking Hokuto Shin Ken and even copying Toki's scar. Under this guise, Amoeba used the people of the village as guinea pigs for expiriments, trying to discover new pressure points. Kenshirou fought him, believing he was Toki, but Rei told him the truth. Amoeba's Hokuto skills were inferior to Ken's years of practice, and Kenshirou ended Amoeba's life with "Zankai Sekiha Ken".
Airi
Rei's younger sister, Airi was kidnapped by Jagi masquerading as Kenshirou. She was sold into slavery and gave up all hope. She blinded herself because she no longer wanted to see the horrors around her. Airi was taken by Kiba Daiou to manipulate Rei into fighting Kenshirou. Rei and Ken destroyed Kiba Daiou and rescued Airi. Kenshirou used Hokuto Shin Ken to restore her sight. After that, Airi lived in Mamiya's village. Raou's men attacked the village and planned to use Airi as a hostage to weaken Rei. But Airi had learned to be brave from Rin and stood against them.
Artiglio

Colonel Master of "Nanto Muon Ken" (South Dipper Silent Fist). He was leader of the Red Berets, the most deadly of all soldiers. These soldiers survived the nuclear war and believed they were chosen by God. The Colonel possesses psychic powers. He commands the GOLAN army which strives to create "GODLAND", a land of provident soldiers. Kenshirou killed him with "Hokuto Kaikotsu Ken".

A gigantic "Rakan Niou Ken" (Arhat Deva Kings Fist) practitoner, Devil Rebirth was sentenced to 200 years in Villainy Prison's dungeon for killing 700 people. Jackal freed him from the prison and conned him into fighting Kenshirou. Kenshirou killed Devil Rebirth with his "Hokuto Shichishiseiten".
Diamond
A master of the staff. Kenshirou killed him with "Koushu Hagan Ken". Gento Area leader with a striking resemblance to Hulk Hogan. Ken kills him. Club wore gigantic blades on his forearms. He enjoyed slicing up innocent people with them. Ken destroyed him with the pressure point "Meimon".
David

Falco
A devoted practiontioner of "Gento Kou Ken", Falco was known as "Golden" Falco. During Raou's reign of terror, Falco gave his leg to Raou in order for Raou to leave his village alone. After that, Falco used a prosthetic leg. Falco was coerced by Jakou to eliminate the Hokuto and Nanto fighters. When fighting with Kenshirou, Ken disabled his own leg with a pressure point to make the fight equal. When Jackou was thwarted, Falco aided Kenshirou in trying to rescue Rin from one of Jakou's sons. He followed the man to Shura island, but died fighting the Shura.
Fudou
of the Mountains

A giant Nanto Goshasei Fighter. Fudou was once a terrible outlaw known as a demon. Fudou attacked the Hokuto dojo and terrified the young Raou. But a very young Yuria stood up to him, risking her life to save some puppies from Fudou's rampage. This changed the giant's heart. Fudoh became Fudoh of the Mountains, one of the five Nanto Goshasei; the guardians of Yuria. Fudou took care of orpahned children. Raou decided to eliminate the only person who ever frightened him. He challenged Fudou to battle. Raou ordered his own men to shoot him if he took a step back. Fudou was able to make him do so, but Raou's men shot Fudou instead and killed him.
Galf
Galf was yet another fat man who ruled as a village dictator. His toen was "Medicine
City", a place known for its stash of pharmeceutical goods. An avid dog
lover, he valued them over humans, and treated them as much. Mamiya attempted
to get medicine from him to help Rei, but had to be rescued by Ken. Galf died
at his hands.
Heart
A giant fat man, Heart was rather genial and polite. But when he saw his blood he would go berserk, killing everyone in sight. Heart's "rubbery flesh" was resistant to Kenshirou's Hokuto Shin Ken, but Ken killed him with "Hokuto Juuhazan".
Hyou

Hyou was in love with Kaiou's younger sister, Sayaka. Kaiou killed her and blamed her death on Kenshirou. Hyou set out to kill Ken, but stopped when his memories returned. Hyou died with Kaiou.
Hyuui
of the Wind
One of the five Nanto Goshasei, leader of the Wind Army. He was killed by Raou.
Jagi
The second-youngest of the four Hokuto brothers, Jagi was also the least skilled of them. He used a shotgun to dispense with most of his victims. Enraged at Kenshirou being chosen successor, he attacked Ken. Kenshirou hit Jagi with his famous Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken. Jagi was able to use his meager Hokuto skills to partially disable the attack, but Jagi's head and face were badly disfigured, and it took metal bars bolted to his skull to keep his head from exploding. With even more hatred for Kenshirou, Jagi brainwashed Shin into taking Yuria from Ken. Jagi then donned a helmet to hide his hideous face and put seven scars on his chest. He then impersonated Ken and did horrible atrocities in Ken's name. During this period Jagi killed Rei's parents and kidnapped Airi, selling her into slavery. He also learned some Nanto Sei Ken. Kenshirou killed Jagi.
Jackal
was
the leader of a local gang that scoured the area, looking fo food and water
to steal. Extemely contemplative, Jackal always had a backup plan. While attempting
to steal water from a village, he killed Toyo, Batt's adoptive mother. Kenshiro
confronted the man, and he led him to Devil Rebirth. In the end, Jackal's obsession
with dynamite caused his demise. Jackal had no fighting style, but he loved
cigars.
Joker
only appears in the TV series.
Jakou
A shifty opportuntist that managed to gain control of the Gento empire by capturing the empress Rui and holding her hostage. He has an intense fear of the dark; it is at night when the Hokuto stars shine their brightest. Years ago when Falco gave Raoh his leg, Raoh told Falco to kill Jakou. But Falco's mother had raised Jakou and so Falco could not kill him. After the Tentei is rescued, Falco finally destroys him.
Juuza
of the Clouds

One of the five Nanto Goshasei. Juuza had grown up with Yuria and wished to marry her, but could not when he learned she was his half-sister. A free-spirited type, Juuza did not wish to fight Raou for the sake of the Last of the Nanto Rokusei Ken until he learned that she was Yuria. Juuza was actually able to briefly take Kokuou from Raou, which was a first. But in the end, Juuza also died from Raou's fists.
Kaiou

Completely consumed by the evil of Hokuto Ryuu Ken, Kaiou killed his own sister Sayaka in order to turn Hyou against Kenshirou. Later he wanted to impregnate Rin with his child because of her Royal bloodline. Extremely powerful; the invincible Hokuto Shin Ken Musotensei did not even stop him. His armor is designed to keep his "Matouki" eminations intact. He finally destroys himself with molten lava after losing to Kenshirou.
Kenshirou
Kenshirou (Ken for short) is the successor of the "Hokuto Shin Ken" style. He has seven scars on his chest in the shape of the "Hokuto Shichisei", or Big Dipper, that were put there by Shin. Kenshirou is the fiance of Yuria. Kenshirou has an older brother, Hyou. Ken always kills his enemies ironically; the punishment always fits the crimes. For some reason the guys he kills usually say "Hidebu" or "Abeshi" right before they die. Ken was born in the Taiseiden area in the Land of Shura.
Kiba
Kiba Daiou (Fang Tribe King) A terrible group of thieves that reside near Mamiya's village are known as the Kiba Ichizoku. These thieves strive to take it as their own. The Kiba Ichizoku are patterned after a wolf pack, led by their "father", Kiba Daiou (Great Fang King). Another giant Kiba is the bestial Madara. The Kiba are masters of Chinese group assassination techniques, namely the "Kazan Gunrou Ken" style.
Ko
The younger brother of Mamiya, Ko foolishly ventured out beyond the village gates to get some of Mamiya's favourite fruit to put on her birthday cake, and was captured by the Kiba Clan. As a public threat, they killed Ko in front of the village. Ken and Rei later extracted vengeance on the murderers.
Kokuou
Raou's titanic black horse. After Raou's death this horse was used by Kenshirou. Kokuoh was lost after Kenshirou suffered memory loss.
Kouryuu

The village leader that employed Ken and Rei as bodyguards, Mamiya bore an uncanny resemblance to Yuria. On her 20th birthday, Mamiya's parents, the village leaders, were killed by Yuda. Mamiya was kidnapped by the man and was branded with Yuda's mark "UD". She escaped and returned to her village a changed person. Mamiya rejected all that was feminine and learned how to fight, using bladed "yo-yos". She took over as village leader. After employing Ken and Rei, her brother Kou was kidnapped and killed by the Kiba tribe after Kou left the safety of the village.
Mitsu
The younger brother of Raiga and Fuuga, Mitsu was used as a threat by Wigul to make the giant twins obey the word of Kenou. Unfortunately, Mitsu witnessed the death of his older brothers, noblely keeping the gates of Cassandra Prison open.
Myuu
Falco's wife; she became Jakou's woman in order to find the location of the Tentei Empress. Later she gives birth to Falco's child.
Nevada
Nevada
was Amiba's fellow Nanto pratitioner. A devious yet cowardly man, Nevada led
Amiba's small army in Miracle village. He recieved a severe beating from Rei,
who determined that Amiba was impersonating Toki. Rei passed this information
on to Ken, which helped him defeat Amiba
Raiga
and Fuuga
Twin "Nishin Fuurai Ken" masters, these two warriors served under the warden Uigul at Cassandra prison. Trained by the Fuurai Ken master Soujin, these two had kind hearts and turned against Uigul. Their brother Mitsu's life was lost in the process and they died helping Kenshirou rescue Toki.
Raou

The eldest of Ryuuken's four Hokuto "sons", Raou is actually the older brother of Toki and Sayaka and the younger brother of Kaiou. After being sent away from Shura as a boy by Jukei, Raou and Toki were adopted by Ryuuken. Raou trained hard under Ryuuken, filled with desire to become the Hokuto Shin Ken successor. But this desire burned out of control. When Kenshirou was chosen as the successor, Raou refused to give up the Hokuto style. He killed Ryuuken when the old man stood to stop him from misusing the Hokuto style. Raou left the Hokuto dojo and changed his name to "Kenou" (Fist King). He raised a giant army, including the likes of Jagi, Amoeba, Uigul, Yuda, and Ryuuga . He built the "City of Wailing Demons", the prison of Cassandra. Raou imprisoned thousands of martial artists, including his own brother Toki, stealing their centuries old martial arts secrets. Rei of the Nanto Suichou Ken style tried to stop him, but Raou hit him with a fatal blow. Kenshirou also fought him, but almost died and was saved by Rei. Toki had made a vow to stop Raou many years earlier. He also failed to stop Raou. But then Kenshirou learned the Hokuto Musotensei, proving to be the ultimate Hokuto fighter. When Raou learned that Yuria was alive he captured her and discovered she was dying. This sadness enabled Raou to also do the Hokuto Musotensei. But Kenshirou did defeat him. Raou sent his life energy into the air, bringing light to the land.

A powerful fighter of the "Nanto Suichou Ken" (South Dipper Waterfowl Fist) style. Rei was part of the Nanto Rokusei Ken and his star was "Gi-sei" (Righteous star). Rei's parents were killed and his younger sister Airi was kidnapped by a man with seven scars on his chest, whom was Jagi. Rei devoted his life to finding his sister and killing the man with seven scars. Rei was employed with Ken to protect Mamiya's village from the Kiba tribe. Rei took an immediate liking to Mamiya, but she had eyes for Ken. After Rei and Ken killed many Kiba tribe members, Kiba Daiou found Airi. Rei and Ken saved her. To repay his debt to Ken, Rei fought Raou. Rei lost, and had only three days to live. During this period Rei discovered Yuda's mark on Mamiya's back. Rei vowed to kill the man that harmed his love, but his time was running out. Rei had Toki use his Hokuto healing to extend his life by a few days. Rei's hair turned white and his pain got worse. Rei finally killed Yuda. He told Mamiya to find a woman's happiness and then he died.
Rihaku
of the Ocean
The leader of the five Nanto Goshasei. Many years later he was the elder statesman of the Hokuto Army led by Bat and Rin. Rihaku was the leader of the Go sha sect, as well as one of the oldest Nanto practitioners. He personally guarded the Last Nanto Warrior, and helped guide the other Go Sha sei to strategic points to stop Raoh. A very militaristic man, Rihaku planned his movements carefully. He had one daughter, named Tou; but in later years, he served as a mentor to Lynn and Batt. His elemental representation was "Umi" (sea).
Rin
(Lynn)
A little girl that befriended Kenshirou, she is Bat's companion. Rin and her twin sister Rui were the daughters of the Gento Emperor. Only one daughter was to be allowed to live, but Falco did not kill her. Rin became mute after witnessing her foster parents' murder, but Kenshirou healed her. Later as a young woman she discovered the truth about her real family.
Ronn

Ryuga è il fratello di Giulia.The master of "Taisan Tenrou Ken" (Tai-Mountain Heavens-Wolf Fist). Neither Hokuto or Nanto, Tenrou-sei is a solitary star known as the Lone Wolf. Taisan Tenrou Ken is able to "scoop" out chunks of flesh from enemies; their last seconds of life are filled with a chilling coldness. Ryuuga is the older brother of Yuria. Ryuuga disliked the chaos and disorder of the post-nuclear holocaust age. He joined Raou believing that the Fist King's iron fist would bring order to the world. The Tenrou star was destined to help the Hokuto. Ryuuga destroyed those opposed to Raou's regime and set out to kill Kenshirou. Ryuuga attacked Toki first to draw out Ken. But Ryuuga's mind was beginning to change. He slit his own belly before fighting Kenshirou. He died believing that Kenshirou would rightfully defeat Raou.
Ryuuken

A young soldier of Falco's.
Sayaka
Sayaka was the younger sister to Kaiou, Raou, and Toki. She was engaged to Hyou, but was killed by her own brother Kaiou in order to frame Kenshirou as the murderer.
Shachi

Later he gives his eye to Hyou. He dies trying to stop Kaiou.

Successor of the "Nanto Koshuu Ken" (Nanto Lone Eagle Fist) style. One of the Nanto Rokusei Ken, Shin's star was "Jun-sei" (Martyr's star). Shin grew up as a good friend of Kenshirou's, but secretly loved Ken's betrothed, Yuria. Jagi realized this and used this to turn Shin against Kenshirou, persuading him to turn to evil and to take Yuria before someone else would. Shin did so, defeating Kenshirou and putting the seven scars on Ken's chest in the shape of the Hokuto Shichisei. Shin called himself King, raised an army and built a city called "Southern Cross". But Shin could not make Yuria love him. When Shin learned that Raou was approaching Southern Cross, Shin knew he couldn't keep Yuria safe and he entrusted her to the Nanto Goshasei. Kenshirou fought Shin believing that Shin still had Yuria, punching the symbol of the Southern Cross in his chest. Shin told Ken that Yuria had died, and he jumped off the building before Ken's attack could take his life.

Shuu

The master of "Nanto Hakuro Ken" (South Dipper White Heron Fist), which concentrates more on kicks than other Nanto styles. Shuu is one of the Nanto Rokusei Ken. He believes the destiny of his star, "Jin-sei" (Benevolent star), is a sad one. Shuu chose not to pass his art to his son, Shiba. Many years earlier, Shuu and the very young Kenshirou were participants in a Hokuto/Nanto competition. Raou and Souther were spectators of this event. The test would be to the death. Ken and Shuu were up against each other. Shuu won the match, but did not want Kenshirou killed. Shuu saw much potential in him and in return for Ken's life, Shuu blinded himself. Shuu learned how to "see" with his heart. Shuu led a resistance group dedicated to stopping the tyrannical Souther. Shuu became friends with Rei and shortly after Rei's death he and Kenshirou met. Shuu headed up a resistance movement against Souther. Shuu and his son Shiba both gave their lives helping Kenshirou. Shuu's dying wish was to see Kenshirou's face once more, which was granted.

A cruel and heartless dictator, Souther is the successor of "Nanto Houou Ken" (South Dipper Phoenix Fist). His star is "Shou-sei" (Command star) also known as the "Kyoku-sei" (Pole Star) "Minami Juuji Sei" (Southern Cross Star). His star is the "Teiou" (Emperor) star and rules the other five Nanto stars, and therefore they cannot defeat him. Souther was abandoned as a baby and was adopted by the previous Nanto Houou Ken successor Ougai. Ougai raised the boy and trained him in the art. When Souther was in his teens, Ougai tested him by blindfolding him. Ougai attacked him and Souther defended himself. When Souther removed the blindfold, Ougai had not dodged and was mortally wounded. Ougai explained that this is the way of Nanto Houou Ken; the young replace the old. Souther watched his beloved master die, and in great sadness, Souther vowed never to feel love again to avoid the pain it can cause. Souther grew up and declared himself "Seitei" (Holy Emperor). He stole children from their families to erect a giant pyramid called "Seitei Juuji Ryou" (Holy Emperor Cross Mausoleum) in honor of his master Ougai. Shuu headed a resistance movement to stop Souther, and Kenshirou joined this group. Kenshirou fought Souther, but found out that none of his Hokuto Shin Ken techniques worked against him. Souther's body had a secret; his heart was on the right side and all his pressure points were reversed. After the death of Shuu, Kenshirou figured out Souther's secret and killed him with the merciful Hokuto Ujou Moushou Ha technique.
Spade
Spade used a crossbow to inflict terror for Shin. When he shot at Kenshirou, Ken threw the arrow back, taking Spade's eye. Later he killed Mizumi, a friend of Ken's. Kenshirou killed him with "Hokuto Zankai Ken". spades are Shin's lieutenants, they get all killed by Kenshiro.
Tige

The second eldest Hokuto Shin Ken "brother", Toki is Kaiou and Raou's true younger brother. He also has a younger sister, Sayaka. Orphaned as a child, Raou and Toki were adopted by Ryuuken. Toki was a quiet, gentle boy who watched his brother Raou train in the Hokuto Shin Ken style. One day a bully killed Toki's dog Koko and Toki beat him senseless. Ryuuken realized Toki had learned from watching Raou. He saw Toki's potential and allowed him to train with Raou. Toki's goal was to become better than Raou. Raou was amused by Toki's vigor. He made Toki promise to stop him if he ever went wrong. As a young man, Toki saved Kenshirou from a falling tree. In the process, Toki recieved a scar on his back. Toki became heavily favored as the Hokuto Shin Ken successor, and planned to use Hokuto Shin Ken to heal the sick. When the nuclear war began, Kenshirou, Yuria, and Toki ran to their bomb shelter. The shelter doors were jammed. Toki threw Ken and Yuria in and forced the doors shut and was completely irradiated by the fallout. When the people left the shelter two weeks later, they found Toki lying on the ground. He was alive, but very sick. His hair had become grey. Toki wandered the land healing the sick. He came upon a village full of sick people. Toki began to heal them and the place was dubbed "Miracle Village". He was heralded as an angel. Amoeba became jealous and impersonated Toki. Toki was sent to Cassandra Prison, and was freed by Kenshirou. Toki set out to stop Raou as promised, but Raou was too powerful and Toki was too sick. Toki eventually died of his illness.

Bat's "mother". She took in many orphaned children, including Bat, years earlier. After she was killed by Jackal, the children went to Chourou.

was the daughter of Rihaku, of the Nanto Gosha sect. As a child she had fallen
in love with Raoh. In order to protect Yuria and make her escape, she stalled
Raoul and told him of her love for him. When he did not acknowledge, she fell
on his knife, killing herself. Uncaringly, Raoul stepped over her body and went
on his way.

Fated to be the Nanto Rokusei Ken Saigou no Shou (Last Warrior), Yuria's star was "Jibo-sei" (Merciful Mother star). She is the younger sister of Ryuuga and has the same father as Juuza. A beautiful and charming woman, many men were in love with her Shin, Toki, Raou, Juuza, and Kenshirou. But she only loved Ken and they were engaged. She was taken from Ken by a brainwashed Shin and held prisoner at Southern Cross. Believing Kenshirou was dead and having nothing to live for, Yuria jumped from the roof of a Southern Cross building. She was safely caught by the Nanto Goshasei and taken under their protection. After taken by Raou, Yuria revealed she was dying of radiation poisoning. She was finally rescued by Kenshirou and lived with him in Shouki's village until she eventually died from the sickness.
Zeed
A big punk with "Z666" tatooed on his forehead; notable only because he is the first villain Kenshirou fought in the story. He was killed by Kenshirou's Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken.
